The second term I found interesting is Enablers. Previously, I believed an enabler to be a person who encourages self-destructive behaviour. However, I have learned that an enabler within an organization is a positive term, which refers to a desire to help colleagues, trust built through working experience, and appreciation.
The third term I found interesting is Barriers. Barriers within an organization refers to negative aspects, such as fear of making a mistake, no feedback and lack of trust. After learning more about this term, it was easier for me to identify barriers in my field placement and workplace.
The fourth term I found interesting is learning organization. A learning organization can refer to one or two things. This organization could be one which learns, or encourages its people to learn. In essence, it should be both. I found this interesting as I believe my field placement is an example of a learning organization. My field placement offers free training and workshops typically offered to employees to students to help develop and enhance our skills.
The final term I found interesting is knowledge cycle. A knowledge cycle refers to knowledge which passes through an organization. In this cycle, knowledge is identified, created, captured, shared, transferred and utilized. I found this insightful as knowledge is truly a cycle, and understanding its formal processes is very helpful.
My weebly experience thus far has been enjoyable. Although I have no experience in website design and am typically not internet savvy, I have enjoyed trying to build this website. I am still unsure how to hyperlink sites into my blog or journal, but am hopeful that will come with time. That is one skill I am trying to develop. I have definitely learned basic skills in website design. I believe the key social work skills I have incorporated into my website have been communication and flexibility. I am hopeful that I am communicating clearly and effectively with my classmates, while offering flexibility for informative and interesting content.
